What happens during a home visit?

  1. I arrive at the agreed time with everything needed for the assessment and, where applicable, treatment.
  2. We talk first. How feeding has been going, your baby's history, and what you'd like from the visit.
  3. Full feeding and oral assessment, including positioning, attachment and tongue movement.
  4. Treatment, if appropriate and agreed, is explained fully before anything is done, including benefits, risks and alternatives.
  5. Hands-on support with feeding straight away, so you leave the visit having already practised the techniques.
  6. Clear aftercare guidance, plus details of any follow-up visit you'd like to book.
